Only Giro could create an extremely lightweight helmet that provides full protection for demanding descents. Weighing just 800 grams (size M), this NTA certified MTB helmet still has effective protection thanks to Spherical Technology Powered by MIPS. This unique system, developed by Giro in collaboration with Mips, works on the principle of a joint - the helmet consists of two parts (hemispheres) that are connected by elastomers and slide together like a joint. This allows the outer layer to rotate around the inner layer in the event of an impact, reducing the forces that would otherwise act directly on the brain. This design solution completely replaces the classic plastic Mips liner used by Mips helmets without Spherical technology. Plus, there's Progressive Layering technology, which consists of two different hardnesses for the outer and inner layers. While the outer layer of EPS foam is harder and thus ready to absorb impacts at high speeds, the inner layer of EPP foam is softer and has rebound properties to absorb impacts at lower speeds as much as possible.

the Coalition Spherical helmet also boasts ventilation on par with some other brands of road helmets. To do this, it uses massive air inlets at the front along with efficient air vents at the rear. These are connected through deep internal channels. As with many of our creations, one of the Coalition's most impressive innovations lies hidden inside: the Halo system combines a chin guard with Pebax (a material designed to provide the perfect range of flexibility and stiffness) and elastomeric pads integrated into the EPS to absorb and dissipate kinetic forces. The result is a helmet that exceeds the standard certification for chin guard deformation by almost double. With Ionic+ antibacterial liners and two sets of interchangeable cheek pads for the perfect fit, the Coalition Spherical helmet sets a new standard for lightweight full protection without compromising comfort.
