Discussion
GIRO Syntax MIPS Mat
Syntax is a racing helmet packed with technology. With its aerodynamic shape and perfect ventilation, it won't get lost on flat or hilly terrain - just the perfect all-rounder. Plus, it fits luxuriously on the head thanks to the Roc Loc 5 clamping system, which also incorporates a MIPS glide layer in the MIPS variant.
mIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) provides increased protection against rotational forces on the head. For more information visit www.MIPSprilby.cz
ROC Loc® 5 SUPPORT SYSTEM
In-mold (Full Wrap) construction
VENTILATION 25 holes, Wind Tunnel™
FEATURES CoolFit liner, ultra-light Slimline straps
SUPER FIT™ SIZES S (51-55 cm), M (55-59 cm), L (59-63 cm)
MIPS IS MOVEMENT
PROGRESS IN CYCLING HELMET DEVELOPMENT
All Giro helmets are designed to absorb as much energy as possible on impact and meet the current European standard: EN 1078. The new MIPS technology aims to eliminate the rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a fall. When impacted at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the rider's head. Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimeters, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that might otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
wHAT IS MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) and how does it work?
mIPS is a slippery liner between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner liners. In the event of an angled impact (for example, if you catch your head on a branch), the helmet's EPS shell will roll a few millimeters over the MIPS layer, protecting your head and brain from the violent rotational jerk.
