GIRO Synthe MIPS II Mat Black L
GIRO Synthe MIPS II Mat Black L
The Synthe MIPS has been an icon in our range since 2015, so why not play with its design a little and create a new helmet based on it - better ventilated and more comfortable: the Synthe MIPS II! Compact aerodynamic shape, low weight and perfect ventilation - these are the cornerstones of a quality racing helmet. The Roc Loc 5 Air clamping system is adjustable in two directions and is also integrated with a MIPS insert to increase protection against rotational forces.

MIPS IS MOVEMENT
PROGRESS IN CYCLING HELMET DEVELOPMENT
All Giro helmets are designed to absorb as much energy as possible on impact and meet the current European standard: EN 1078. The new MIPS technology aims to eliminate the rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a fall. When impacted at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the rider's head. Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimeters, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that might otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
wHAT IS MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) and how does it work?
mIPS is a slippery liner between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner liners. In the event of an angled impact (for example, if you catch your head on a branch), the helmet's EPS shell will roll a few millimeters over the MIPS layer, protecting your head and brain from the violent rotational jerk.
