Description GIRO Tenet MIPS
The Tenet MIPS helmet features an innovative hybrid construction combining a durable and ventilated top part (Hard Shell) with a lightweight In Mold shell at the bottom. It is perfectly designed for your all-mountain adventure. The helmet is equipped with the MIPS system, which, thanks to its two-part construction, reduces the impact of rotational forces on the head in the event of a fall. To help you adapt to changing temperatures, we have integrated the Thermostat Control system into the helmet, which regulates ventilation. In Form 2 fit system and comfortable Ionic+ antibacterial padding ensure all-day comfort.

MIPS IS MOVEMENT
ADVANCEMENT IN SKI HELMET DEVELOPMENT
All Giro helmets are designed to absorb as much impact energy as possible and meet the applicable European standard: EN 1077. The goal of the new MIPS technology is to eliminate rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a fall and subsequent impact on the slope. Upon impact at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the head. Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimeters, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that would otherwise be transferred to the brain.
WHAT IS MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) and how does it work?
MIPS is a slippery insert between the EPS shell (the body of the helmet) and the inner padding. In the event of an angled impact, the EPS shell of the helmet rotates a few millimeters over the MIPS layer, thereby protecting the head and brain from a sharp rotational jerk.
