New SG1 Protection SG1 represents the toughest and most durable protective technology ever paired with the iconic tread patterns of WTB Trail Boss, Vigilante, Judge, and Verdict. This technology takes the proven two-layer "Tough" variant to a whole new level. Added puncture protection runs under the entire tread of the tire, increasing its resistance to sharp objects hidden in the terrain. With a clear goal to strengthen the most vulnerable parts of the tire casing, WTB has introduced its new Inner Peace + technology, which triples the bead protection height for SG1. This enhancement not only protects the tire bead from damage but also significantly reinforces the sidewall structure. TriTec Compound TriTec utilizes three rubber compounds to provide varying levels of traction, support, and durability based on their placement in the tire. The entire sample is supported by a base made of highly hard rubber, which extends up to half the height of the tread lugs and allows the use of softer compounds in the lugs without their deformation due to forces acting in corners. The top part of the central knobs is made of a medium-hard durometer compound, which ensures traction and durability without reducing rolling efficiency, while the outer knobs are made of the softest compound, providing maximum grip and slow rebound.
